Basic Service Package Development for Retirees

Follow-up workshop on Basic Service Package Development for Retirees is planned as a three-day event, on 5-7 May 2010, in Langzhong city at Sichuan Province, one of the pilot cities in Social Care.  The participants attending the workshop are representatives from different cities in Sichuan who are responsible for the social care at sub-city levels. The focus of the workshop is to introduce the service package for elderly developed by the project and also the EU best practices on pension delivery. Chinese experts will provide contributions on how to manage the service and how to deliver the service. Experiences will be shared and information will be exchanged with the participants. The representative from the Langzhong municipal government will also deliver a speech, showing the support to the project and also the importance of the implementation of the service package.  For better sharing the experiences, group discussions will be organized. On-site visits will be organized for the participants in order to have an impression and better understanding on the service practices. The communities to be visited are Shu Yuan Jie community (10 km from the hotel) and Nei Dong Jie community (20 km from the hotel).
