Social Insurance Tax Seminar on May 28

The EUCSS Project will be holding a seminar on May 28 in Beijing on the merits of a social tax for financing social security. This seminar is being held in response to a specific request from the NPC participants in the recent seminar on the Social insurance Legislation.

The Minister of Finance Xie Xuren recently broached the subject in an article written for Qiu Shi an official magazine of the CPC Central Committee.  The seminar will include contributions from two EU member states who use Social tax – Netherlands and Estonia – and those who have social insurance contribution system and will discuss the merits and practical difficulties of the approach in the light of China’s economic and administrative development.
