In 8th July Hubert Stüker and Bill Birmingham participated in an hour long discussion programme on China Radio International (CRI). The programme discussed the issue of raising the pension age in Europe and China and also considered the objects of the EUCSS project and how far they had been achieved.

EUCSS experts appear on CCTV-9 Dialogue show
China is facing the situation that it is getting older quicker than it is getting rich. Whether the present Chinese social security system continues to practise apay-as-you-go system to finance the requirements of the rapidly increasing aged population or funds the system to fill empty individual accounts. Perhaps there is an opportunity to refer to experience and lessons learned in EU Member States so as to help solve some of the present problems from policy development and legal aspects as well as within the social security system itself.
