This section covers cross-cutting issues that apply to all five social insurance systems in China, i.e. old age, medical, unemployment, work injury and maternity insurance, as well those which are of overarching importance for European social security policies (such as gender equality, environmental impact or institutional and financial sustainability) . It also contains general information about systemic issues related to more than one of the insurances.
